Farewell 2010

Dear Blog,

The clock on my laptop says that it's 11.09pm. Another 51 minutes to 12.00am. Then it'll be a new year. But why I'm not feeling like I'm expecting it? Like something big is gonna happen in my life? I'm not feeling anxious. Not even happy. Just plain.

2010 has really gives me new moments to cherish later on. I get to experience many new things in my life. Sad. Happy. Funny.

I think the FUNNIEST thing that ever happened to me this year is..
I failed my driving test twice. A straight A's girl failed her driving test twice. How stupid I can be?
LOL  =P

SAD moments. Well, there are a few. But I always forget them. I have to. Otherwise I'll not look ahead in a positive way. There are some that I'll never forget. I'll just let them be in my heart until they decide to walk away by themselves.

There are numerous HAPPY moments!
I got to live like a free dove after SPM is over.
I got to meet my bestest friend in the whole wide world after 5 years.   ( Anem, thanks dear~ )
I got the chance to work as a clerk at Uncle Zak's office.
I pass my SPM with flying colours.      ( Straight A's tau  XD )
I further my studies in Egypt to be a dentist.
Fluffy's have 4 extra kittens.
My sister have been accepted as an exchange student to USA.
Aba just got a new job.

And the one thing that I'm gonna remember it very well is I got a German brother. I always wanted a big brother. I am really Thankful to Allah, that He had granted my wish before I went abroad. It felt like, There's nothing I have to regret when I left Malaysia.

Abang Adam, really,, you have change my life. Because you made my dream come true.  =)

Ok. I guess the reason why I'm not expecting 2011 to come is, I don't think it as a new year for me. Or more likely a new beginning. Because I think that my  'new year' started when I took the flight to Egypt. When I decided to study here. To be a dentist.

People say that you set your goals for new year. And strive to achieve that goals. My New Year just started three months ago. So tomorrow, 01.01.2011. You're just numbers to me. Nothing big.

Because I just realize that you don't need a new year to set your goals. Any time would do.  XD

Sanah Helwa  =)

Susah ke Senang?

Selamat Petang warga Mesir. Selamat Tengah Malam Buta buat warga Malaysia. ^^

Mei said to me,

" Update la blog lagi "

Well my dear sister and precious blog readers, for your EXTRA information, I'm currently having my final semester examinations.. until end of January. So, do pray hard for me okayhhhh  o_O

Susah ke Senang?
Mesti korang akan cakap,

" Alaaa... kacang buncis je beb. Ape yang susahnye? Bukannye ko tak reti guna pun. "

Weyh, let me tell you some grandmother stories.
One of our subjects during our foundation year is COMPUTER SCIENCE.
What the hack are we gonna learn actually? Computer? Piece of cake right?

...1st Class...
We learn how to open a computer. How to use Microsoft Word. How to save a document. How to create a new folder. How to rename a folder.

Gosh! Are they playing jokes on me? I've learn these stuff since I was in kindergarten!

...2nd Class..
Today we learn how to use Microsoft Excel. How to do table. Berapa banyak row.. berapa banyak column. blablabla.... And we learn how to make graph.  I have mastered these things when I worked as a clerk at Uncle Zak's office.

Manage to do it with no sweat. Proud of myself though   =P

...3rd Class...
Access!!!!!! okayh. easy but yet, confusing. And we learn everything about Access until the last week before the exams start.
It's not difficult.
It's just confusing and sometimes the computer just doesn't wanna do what I'm asking them to do!

And right now,,
Kak Nafisah
Kak Shamilah
Ain
Izzah
Me

sitting at the living room with all our eyes glued to the laptop's screen.
Doing revision for COMPUTER SCIENCE.
We can't just think that it's the easiest subject above all..

So...

Susah ke Senang?

I would say,  it's CONFUSING!    @_@

P/S: Dear Laptop, please be nice to me tomorrow!

Lost

I can't believe it's over
I watched the whole thing fall
And I never saw the writing that was on the wall
If I'd only knew
The days were slipping past
That the good things never last
That you were crying

Summer turned to winter
And the snow it turned to rain
And the rain turned into tears upon your face
I hardly recognize the girl you are today
And God I hope it's not too late
It's not too late

'Cause you are not alone
I'm always there with you
And we'll get lost together
Until the light comes pouring through
It's when you feel like you\'re done
And the darkness has won
Babe, you're not lost
When your world's crashing down
And you can't bear the cross
I said, babe, you're not lost

Life can show no mercy
It can tear your soul apart
It can make you feel like you've gone crazy but you're not
Things have seemed to change
There's one thing that's still the same
In my heart you have remained
And we can fly fly fly away

'Cause you are not alone
And I am there with you
And we'll get lost together
Until the light comes pouring through
It's when you feel like you're done
And the darkness has won
Babe, you're not lost
And the world's crashing down
And you can not bear the cross
I said, baby, you're not lost

Odd

Marhaban!

How are you peeps??
Doing well in life?
How's the weather today?

Everyone's in the house has already gone to bed now. Im the only one left. Suddenly felt like blogging.
Hmm...

It's winter now. For sure! 'coz the temperature dropped dramatically from 17c to 10c on the next day. Well, you might say that,

"Moscow lagi sejuk laaa.."

or

" Scotland laaaaaaaagi sejuk"  =P

Tapi, kat sini ade ribut pasir tau tak???
Angin pusing2 macam puting beliung (tapi, yang kecik punye jela).. bunyik diaa... fuuhhh,, naik bulu tengkuk.
Wa tak de tipu lu beb. Ini betul2 punyer.
Here in Cairo we have sandstorms in winter.
Alexandria experience the ice rain. Wow.
To Syifa and Farisha, hang in there friends!

Aside from that,
My body give a wierd effect due to this "extreme" weather.
My skin's can easily have small cuts. Especially when I scratch them. They're super dry too!
And my hands! My poor hands....=(
They tend to get damn itchy and painful whenever I try to eat with my hands. Yeah, I do have skin allergic but this is not what I always experiencing.
and now I have to eat with fork and spoon.

Alhamdulillah, it only happens to my right hand ; 'coz it's only use for bowing.
I can still play  the notes with my left hand.

P/S: Exams starts on Wednesday. All the best to all my friends. Bittaufiq wannajah! =)

Merdeka!

Oops...
Don't get the title wrong. I'm just posting this for my dear lovely Mei.

Dear Mei,
Wishing you MERDEKA! Finally, you have finished your SPM and you're already officially graduated from high school. All that sweat and hardwork you have put on will come out in uber result insyaAllah =)

You said that, " SPM dah abes. High school is gone for good."

Well my dear, let me tell you something based on my experience. You will feel that you just know the word F.R.E.E.D.O.M  for the first time in your life. You get to do things that you really wanna do the most, when you can't do them all these while. You will feel that everything is over for good and that you have done a very good job in your life although there are some parts that you might regret.

1st week...
Sleep all day. It's pay back time isn't it? For every single night you stayed late at night to do your revision. Then, play games.. facebook-ing.. watching TV.. just being lazy. No one's gonna get angry at you. Not even Ma, not even Aba. You deserve it right?

2nd week...
Feels like this is one of the best moments that can happen in your life. Enjoy!

3rd week...
I bet you're gonna feel lonely by now. Schools are gonna open in early January. You saw people busy shopping for their children's stuff. Adik will be one of them. You'll be wondering what school will be like next year? without your existence? How about your friends? How are they doing? It's been a long time haven't meet them and have some chit chat and gossips over some people you know at school.

I used to think that too. That high school is gone for good. But you wanna know something? I miss them badly. I miss to wear my prefect uniform and always be strict during the school hours. I miss to get scolded by teachers for not doing my homework. I miss to write my name on every new books that I'm gonna use in schools. I miss my friends. I miss my Asduta. I miss my teachers. I miss the school. I miss being given responsibility. I miss get tangled up in paperworks, reports, exams and so much more.

You will only realize this when you had left old things behind and you see so many new things ahead of you.
Cherish every moments you had as a student. Remember them strongly. Because, when things get tough on the later days.. you will remember that, you once had lead a journey of ups and downs on your way climbing  the mountains of knowledge and you will be grateful to Allah that you had seen  beautiful sceneries of life.

You can always create a new moments to cherish later on. Life's still a long journey.

The best Asam Pedas is made from basic herbs and spices,, mixed together. You get the red kuah and you put ikan parang later on.

Just think of it like that. =)

Love,
Jie.

Kempunan

Namun, apakan daya, masa amat mencemburui kami. Kaki terpaksa melangkah pergi sebab nak kejar train balik Cairo.

Oh Mesir! Awat la hang tak import MAGGIE??? Kalau hang import kan,, nescaya kaya hang student Malaysia dok beli tiap2 minggu.

MAGGIE tomyam,, rindu kat kau sangat2!!!! <3 <3 <3

Winter Preparation Part 1

Salam Sejahtera.
Semoga sihat belaka dan sentiasa di bawah lindungan Allah SWT.

Ma insisted me to talk about India. But,, from the deep of my heart, I don't feel like giving a story telling bout it YET. So, I'm gonna tell u guys about my winter preparation in Egypt.

One and a half month ago, (while I was still in Malaysia)
I didn't buy any winter clothes to bring here. AQM and my seniors said in Egypt it will be a lot cheaper. PLUS,, I don't want any excess baggage. Kena bayar wooo.. 1 kilo RM96.00. Gila!
I didn't bring sweater along. My bag was already FULL and PACKED. Thanks to the GREEN BAG  =_=

It's already been a week since Egypt started to cool. Gosh! I never thought that it would be so fast! The other day was sooo hot and the next thing when I woke up in the morning, I was shivering! I only had my wool pashmina that I bought in India. Every night I sleep with pashmina as my blanket and I had to wear socks too! The cold is sooo different than the cold that you feel in an air-conditioned room.

Baru 18 degree celcius, nak mandi pagi pun pikir dua kali. HAHA.
before mandi, jerang air panas dua kali, campur ngan air sejuk tu. Nikmat mandi tak terkata!
Sis Aishah said last year the temperature was low around 6 degree celcius!
Cool dude. I'm really looking forward to my days here =)

P/S:   Winter = Hibernate

Land of Pharaohs

It's already been exactly  27 days I'm in Egypt. Well, I came here to study dentistry in University of Al-Azhar for 5 years. Before this I never imagine myself to further my study in Egypt. I wanted to go to Netherland! But many things pass by in my life and here I am, in the land of pharaohs,, filled with many ancient history for me to discover. ( and for sure, study like mad to get my degree)

Months before I arrived, a friend of my senior told me this,

" Mesir tak sama macam country lain. Awak kena prepare."

I was wondering apa yang lainnya. Then I asked my Ma. (she's been to Egypt before)

"Well, dia sama macam India kot. I'm sure you will survive." Ma said.

Ok. I know what it will be like. Veeeeeeeeryy different from Malaysia. During my one week orientation in ILIM, the seniors show us lots of pictures about Egypt. Yeap, memang sangat lain. At least I know how the place will look like, the people, the city, the transportation. It's not like I haven't done my own research, but you guys know la kan, the media always nak tunjuk yang baik2 je. Hey, I'm gonna stay here for five years. Of course I wanna make sure that I will survive in a strange, new environment.

It's quite difficult for me to express what I think when I first saw the surrounding around Egypt. All I can say is, macam India. Ada banyak pasir. Ada banyak orang. Ada kuda ngan keldai kat tepi jalan. Saaaaaangat lain dari Malaysia. You can't easily find horses and donkeys in Malaysia. Paling senang nak jumpa, kat zoo. Then,  hon kat sini macam orchestra. Non stop. Most of the Egyptians don't obey the traffic rules. Traffic light pun susah nak nampak. Oh yeah, one more thing,, the traffic light will always be in yellow colours.

My friend said, " dia nak suruh kita awas je. Jangan sampai berlanggar ngan kereta lain."  huhu..

Crossing the streets, lain cerita pulak. Tak ada jejantas. Tak ada traffic light untuk pejalan kaki. Lintas macam tu je. Kereta dah la laju nak mampus. Tawakkal je laa... haiihhh    =_="

The habits of the Egyptians.
First, they are nocturnal. Kedai bukak sampai pukul 3 pagi if  I'm not mistaken.
They open their store at noon. Nak zohor baru bangun dari tidur. Only bread shop, vegetable stall je yang bukak awal pagi.
Second, they speak arabic in Egyptian accents. Famous dengan nama, bahasa 'ammiyah. Lain gila dari bahasa arab yang kita belajar kat sekolah dulu. ( this one is known as fushah ) So, it's very difficult for us to understand what they are saying. To make things worse, my fushah pun sangat basic. But, I still survive. with the help of my friends and seniors. =)
Third, there are sooooooooooo many rubbish. Tepi jalan melambak.
Fourth, they LOVE to drink carbonated drinks and eat snacks. You guys can find small stalls along the streets that sell these kinda things. Ishh.. tak kena diabetes ke macam tu?? seram tengok.

There's more in egypt for me to discover. I have 4 years ++  to experience a whole new journey in my life. I'll just go with the flow.  ^_^

P/S : ada orang tu suruh I update blog. tapi dia tak jadi follower pun. =P

The Opening

In the name of Allah, The Most Gracious, The Most Merciful.

All praise is due to Allah, Lord of the worlds.

The Most Gracious, The Most Merciful.

Master of the Day of Judgement.

You alone do we worship, and You alone do we ask for help.

Show us the Straight Path.

The Path of those whom You have bestowed Your Blessings,
not of those whom be Your Wrath, nor of those who go astray.

First and foremost, I would like to thank Allah SWT for giving me the chance to manage a blog for me to write my thoughts, express my feeelings, and last but not least, as a medium for me to communicate with my family, friends, and other people. =)

why Violinista ? maybe some of you guys are wondering right?
Well, at first when I decided to do a blog, I want the name to have something that reflects myself. For those who didn't know me or have not yet read my profile, I am a violinist. So, I just add the letter 'A'.
It just sound soooooo right to me although I don't think it would bring any meanings.  XD

( To the English experts, forgive me if this may sound so wrong in any ways)

Ok. Straight to the point. I will be using mostly English and Malay language to write Violinista.  I apologies for any grammar mistakes or any misuse words.
( FYI, English is my second language )
If I 'accidentally' use words that you guys are not familiar with, please forgive me and you always can ask me the meanings later!

Everyone are welcome to read Violinista regardless what race and religion you are. I want to let you know that I'm happy to receive any advice, comments or opinions from you guys  ^_^

Till then. Peace ^^
